Innovating for a Greener Tomorrow

Closed-loop recycling has a markedly lower climate impact than other recycling methods.

At Accon Greentech, our commitment to sustainability is at the core of our operations. In collaboration with IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, we embarked on an ambitious project named "Closing the Loop of Industrial Plastic." This initiative is a crucial step in our journey to redefine the recycling practices of industrial plastics, mainly focusing on enhancing the circular use of materials.

The research conducted in this collaboration has revealed a significant finding: closed-loop recycling, where used materials are transformed back into similar quality products, has a markedly lower climate impact than other recycling methods. This method has emerged as the most sustainable option, surpassing both open-loop recycling and incineration in its environmental benefits.

The most sustainable option is recycled big bags made from material from used big bags, also known as closed-loop recycling.

Commitment to Quality and Transparency

In our quest for transparency and quality assurance, we are now able to provide “Thorough Documentation Sheets” (TDS) and “Certificates of Analysis” (CoA) with an esteemed, independent external test house. This collaboration ensures that our products adhere to the highest quality standards, offering unparalleled confidence.

If you wish to learn more about our sustainable initiatives or have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us. Together, we can significantly impact the industry and the environment.

About the project “Closing the Loop for Industrial Plastic.”

Closing the Loop for Industrial Plastic is a project that develops systems for the collection and high-quality recycling of three different types of plastic packaging within the industry. Three case studies were conducted. They concern:

  • Big bags between 0.25 and 3 cubic meters are used for everything from grains to chemicals.
  • Packaging made of EPS (expanded polystyrene, sometimes called styrofoam)
  • Plastic film is used in the industrial and construction sectors, among other things.

Thanks to the three case studies, the project creates the foundation for a general model of system innovation that promotes increased recycling within the industry.
